Libraries and Information East Midlands
LIEM is the strategic voice for libraries in the East Midlands. Funded entirely by membership subscriptions, it works to encourage and enable partnership and resource sharing between libraries of all kinds.
Member organisations include all of the region’s public and university library services, together with a number of further education, health sector and special libraries as diverse as the British Geological Survey, the library of Lincoln Cathedral and E-ON Engineering UK.
LIEM offers a range of training opportunities, including the acclaimed cross-sectoral Motivate, Learn, Lead programme. LIEM’s Regional Council meets quarterly and there are a number of cross-sectoral groups including Newsplan, the Local Studies Forum and the Training and Development Group who also meet regularly.
