Northamptonshire Museums Forum provides a friendly network of support and enables museums to share information, discuss current issues, take part in training and also acts as an advocate for Northamptonshire’s museums. Members include local authority and independent museums, historic houses and heritage sites.

The forum is currently developing a website promoting the county’s museums and will publish a bi-annual ‘Museums Historic Houses and Heritage guide’ leaflet in April this year.

The forum also runs a Northamptonshire Museums learning group for staff involved in learning. This meets 3 times a year and is an opportunity to share information and take part in training.
The next afternoon meeting (date and venue tba) will include a training session on ‘using oral history’.
